M.Sc.

(Mathematics)

M.Sc. Mathematics: 75 (GC: 30 + Extra seats: 17 andPSFC: 25+ Extra seats:3) *Refer table-1

Two Years

(Four Semesters)

Candidates who have passed three year B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered equivalent thereto with Mathematics as major/optional/special subject are eligible for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in Mathematics.

If the candidates with Mathematics as major/optional/special subject are not available then the graduates of Bachelor of Engineering (BE) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) from any Recognized University with mathematics in at least 4 semesters (16 credits or more) are eligible for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category–I candidates) marks in Mathematics.

The selection of candidates shall be on merit-cum-reservation on the basis of 50:50 weightage for marks in the entrance and qualifying examinations.

Ph.D. Mathematics

As per University Regulation

Full time Min.3 to max.5 years/Part Time min 4 to max.6 years

 

Second class Master’s degree with not less than 55% marks (50% marks in the case of SC/ST and Category –I  Candidates) in a relevant subject

 

Eligibility 

1. M.Sc. Mathematics:  

Candidates who have passed three year B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered equivalent thereto with Mathematics as major/optional/special subject and Bachelor of Engineering (BE) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) from any Recognized University with mathematics in at least 4 semesters (16 credits or more) are eligible, provided they satisfy all other requirements in (1) above.

All the candidates who are eligible are required to appear for the Entrance Examination conducted by the University at the time of admission every year. The selection of candidates shall be on merit-cum-reservation on the basis of 50:50 weightage for marks in the entrance and qualifying examinations.
