About the Department
The Department of Business Administration at Mangalore University was founded in 1981 and 40 batches have been passed out from its portal. Top priority is accorded here towards the creation of management graduates with strong fundamentals and firm basics of management. The curriculum that is followed has a balanced blend of practical and theory. Along with the prescribed syllabus, industrial visits, seminars, guest lectures form experts and corporate executives, case studies and mini-projects are undertaken on a regular basis. The course offers three specializations, i.e. Marketing Management, Financial Management and Human Resource Management. The Department has been accorded with recognition from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The Department of Business Administration with a vision to impart qualitative management education to young graduates in tourism started a Two-Year Four-Semester Full Time MBA (Tourism & Travel Management) programme in the year 2001.
The program is catering to the burgeoning Travel, Tourism, and Cargo industry. The primary objective of the course is to prepare a cadre of well informed, pro-active, and high calibre professionals to be unleashed on the mushrooming, multi-dimensional Travel, Tourism, and Cargo industry.
The department also offers Ph.D. programme in Business Management and Tourism.
