Achievements of the Department (SAP, FIST, CAS & any other recognition)
The department received research and infrastructure development grants of about Rupees 2 Crores from UGC, DST, DAE, NPCIL, KSCST, BRNS etc. The major grants received for the infrastructure development of the department are:
DST-FIST (I Phase): Rs. 42 Lakhs
UGC-SAP (I Phase): Rs. 37 Lakhs
UGC-SAP (II Phase) : Rs. 75 Lakhs
Awards and Recognitions
Prof. Vishalakshi B. received Dr. Kalpana Chawla State Award for Young Women Scientists-2013
Prof. Boja Poojary has been awarded the Korean Academy of Science and Technology sponsored Brain Pool Program Post Doctoral Fellowship-2006 during 2006-2007 to carry out Post-Doctoral Research at Korean Research Institute of Chemical Technology, Daejon, South Korea.
Prof. G. K. Nagaraja has been awarded the Raman Postdoctoral Fellowship during 2013-2014 at University of California, Davis, USA
Prof. Vishalakshi B., received the Prof. Kaza Somasekhara Rao award for the year 2018 as ‘Best Women Scientist in Chemistry’ from Indian Council of Chemists.
Prof. Vishalakshi B. received the Life-time Achievement Award-2020 from Mangalore University.
Prof. Boja Poojary received the Outstanding Research Work Award-2024 form Mangalore University.
Prof. Jagadeesh Prasad D. received the Outstanding Research Work Award-2024 form Mangalore University.
Dr. Mahagundappa R. Maddani received Research Publication Award (ARP - 2021-22) for the year 2021-22 from VGST, Government of Karnataka.
