Introduction:

    The M.Sc. in Biochemistry Course was started in the year 2014 at Mangalagangothri Campus of Mangalore University to cater the needs of students of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district in particular and other parts of the country in general. This is a traditional well established course. The course, comprises of course content with fundamentals and modern aspects of Biochemistry.           

Mission:

     Department Mission is to train civilized human resource having in-depth knowledge in fundamentals and applications of Biochemistry for global competence.

About the Department: 

    Department started in the year, June 2014  Presently the department consists of Prof. B.K. Sarojini, Chairperson of Industrial Chemistry as Coordinator for the course, Visiting faculty 1No. Guest Faculty 03No.

    Prof. Cletus D’ Souza, Emeritus Professor of Biochemistry, University of Mysore, Manasagangothri, has delivered special lectures. Even though, course started in the academic year 2014-15, it has procured all necessary Laboratory equipments and other facilities. The performance of the student in the Ist Semester is highly encouraging with 100% pass which includes 5 distinctions and 11 Ist Class and 4 IInd Class.
