The department has conducted a number of Seminars, Workshops, Refresher Courses and Conferences Sponsored by DST, DAE, MHRD and the UGC and they are;

  1. A 3-Day Workshop on Futurology sponsored by the DST, 1987.

  2. A 3-Day Workshop on Futurology sponsored by the DST, 1988.

  3. A 3-Week Winter School in Chemistry for Junior College Teachers in Karnataka, Sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India, Nov.1988.

  4. A 21-Day National Workshop on Radiochemistry and Applications of Radioisotopes      and Allied Topics, sponsored by  BARC-DAE, November 1992.

  5. The 16th Annual Conference of Indian Council of Chemists during Dec.29-31,1997.

  6. A UGC sponsored 3-Day Workshop on Low Cost Equipment as Teaching Aid for Science Teachers in UG and PG Departments during Oct. 24-28, 1998.

  7. SIX UGC Sponsored Refresher Courses in Chemistry for University College Teachers during; 1992, 1994, Dec. 1-24, 1998, Oct.16 to Nov. 9, 2001, March 1 to 22, 2002 and Oct. 17 to Nov. 8, 2002.

  8. One day workshop on ‘Industrial Corrosion -Awareness & Prevention’ , organised in association with Electrochemical Society of India, Bangalore was organized in association with NITK, Surathkal on February 25, 2006.

  9. Three Science Exhibitions–Decennial Celebrations, Silver Jubilee Celebrations & Karavali Utsav.

Conferences Organized:

  1. A National Conference on ‘Current Trends in Chemical Research, CTCR-2006’ was held during May 13 & 14, 2006 to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the department.
  2. Three Day International Conference on Frontiers in Chemical Research ICFCR-2008 held in the Department of Chemistry, Mangalore University during 29-31 December 2008.
  3. Three Day International Conference on Recent Advances Industrial Electrochemical Science and Technology (ICRAIEST-2009)held at department of chemistry, Mangalore University during 5-7 November, 2009.
  4. Three Day International Conference on “Synthetic and Structural Chemistry( ICSSC-2011) held at Mangalore University, Mangalagangotri  during 8-10 December 2011
  5. One day National Symposium on Recent Advances in Chemical Sciences- 2013(NSRACS-2013) held on 30 April 2013.
