Note: The students are trained in the department for a duration of 3 semesters and the fourth semester is earmarked for project work and the students are deputed to various industries and National Laboratories for doing their project.

M Sc Electronics |

Two Years (Four Semesters) | Candidates with the following qualifications are eligible for admission to M.Sc. course in Electronics on the basis of written test and viva-voce as per rules framed by the University in this regard. B Sc graduates with Physics or Electronics as major/optional subject with 45% (40% in case of SC/ST) aggregate excluding languages, provided they have also studied Mathematics at the PU level are eligible for admission to the M Sc Electronics programme. The admission shall be based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination and the marks secured in the entrance test (as per the rules framed by Mangalore University) to be conducted by the University. |
M.Phil | As per University Regulation | One year (Full time) or One and a half year (part time) | Master’s degree of Mangalore University or any other University as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) in the subject / allied subject. There shall be an entrance test for the admission. |

Co-curricular Activities
Electronics
The Department has a student forum to provide a platform for young students to enhance their talents. Under the banner of this forum various activities are conducted like an yearly fest called "Electrofest" in which inter collegiate competitions on electronic topics are hosted. Visits to Electronics R&D labs and Industries to study their working pattern and know more about advanced equipments being used. Workshops and seminars are conducted to train the students and give knowledge about the present trends in Electronics Technology.
Placements
The Department places the students in Electronics Industry for their IVth Semester project work for a period of 24 weeks. At the end of the course Campus Interviews are conducted by a few Industries for job placements and few are immediately absorbed after the project work.
Counselling & Guidance
Students are divided into batches and are kept under the guidance of staff members for every kind of help they need and are regularly guided in their work as well as choosing of career etc. through personal counselling.
Extra-curricular activities
Students are motivated to take part in various cultural competitions as well as sports to inculcate in them a competitive spirit, a sportive attitude and develop their overall personality.
