Sri. N.G. Pavanje Chair in Fine Arts Extension Activity 2017-18


15/04/2017 – Caricature and Cartoon drawing Training Programme for School Children

The N.G.Pavanje Chair organised Rekhantaranga, a Caricature and Cartoon drawing Training Programme for School children on 15.04.2017 as part of its activities for 2017-18.  The programme was held at Kadri  Park alongside Kudla Kala Mela with cooperation of primary and high schools, art teachers and art organisations such as Artists Forum Mangalore and Karavali Chitrakala Chavadi.  The training programme made a statement that learning art could be fun.  The University was able to reach out yet again to school students  and society at large.  125 school children participated.




29/01/2018 – Art Literacy Camp for College Students


A one day Art Literacy workshop was organised on 29.01.2018 with the University First Grade College, Mangalagangothri by the N.G.Pavanje Chair in Fine Arts on 02/01/2018 at Yakshagana Kala Mandira, Mangalagangothri.  Eminent artists Shri P.S.Punchithaya, Shri Ganesh Somayaji, Shri Anantha Padmanabha and Shri Sharath Holla were the resource persons.  A total of 151 students took part in this workshop which had pencil sketching and free style oil painting as its themes.  Through this, the Chair focused on exposing undergraduate students to the best artists, thereby inculcating professional and aesthetic skills.
