Q6:What is the eligibility criteria for admission to M.Sc Statistics?

Ans: Candidates who have passed three years B.Sc. Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Statistics and Mathematics provided, they have studied at least one of them as major/optional/special subjects and the other as minor/subsidiary subjects and have secured a minimum of 45%(40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in Statistics and Mathematics are eligible for the programme. If the candidates with Statistics as major/ optional/subsidiary/special subjects are not available, then the graduates with Mathematics as an optional/ major/special subjects may also be considered for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ ST/    Category–I candidates) marks in Mathematics.

Ans: General Category

  2.  SC/ST                                     :  Rs.500/-  If Income is  < Rs.2.5 Lakh

Q8: What are the modes of paying application fees?

Ans: Online/ Offline

Q9:What is the passing marks in M.Sc Statistics?

Ans: A candidate with 24 marks out of 70 marks in Semester exam and overall 35 marks out of 100marks in each subject is considered as PASS in respective subject.  

Q10:Is there a Scholarship for Below Poverty Line students?

Ans:Yes (E-pass,Minority scholarships, SC/ST scholarships provided by state government)

Q11:How to get an Eligibility Certificate?

Ans: One can obtain an eligibility certificate by submitting to “The Registrar, Mangalore University, Mangalagangothri-574199” a duly filled in application form for eligibility certificate along with the fee, attested copies of degree certificate, course certificate and TC from the institution where the candidate studied last.

 
Q12: How to get a Transfer Certificate?

Ans: One can obtain Transfer Certificate by submitting to “The Chairman, Department  of PG Studies and Research in Statistics, Mangalore University, Mangalagangothri-574199” a handwritten application form for Transfer Certificate along with the TC fees of rupees 250.
