The Department has the credit of having highest number of students passed in UGC NET examination in Mangalore University and also in Karnataka. About 45 candidates have cleared UGC NET Examination during last five years. The final year M.A. degree students were also selected for jobs during campus placement interviews.Some of the students who obtain the Master Degree of the department are also succeeded in passing IES/KAS exams.Some of them also succeeded in national level banking exams and found high class job opportunities and serving in many Nationalized Banks
