The Department offers M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Political Science. The M.A programme is a two year (four semesters) Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) programmewith 88 credits (including Open Electives). Students can opt for a project work in lieu of one soft course in fourth semester. Following are the courses offered in each semester along with course code*

Eligibility for Master of Arts (M.A) in Political Science:

Candidates who have passed any three years Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Political Science as major/optionalsubject are eligible for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category I candidates) marks in the subject.

 

PhD Scholars in the Department: 51

 

PH.D PROGRAMME:

            The department has been offering Ph.D programmes ever since its inception. These programmes are in keeping with the specifications and regulations laid down by the University and the University Grants Commission. So far 28 research students have successfully completed their research and been awarded doctoral degrees. At present there are 52 research scholars in the department working on different aspects of the discipline.
