About the Centre
Mangalore University established the “Dharmanidhi Yoga Peetha” in 1983 through a donation of Rs. 4.8 lakhs made by the Trustees of Hindu Temples of the then Dakshina Kannada district to establish three- fold activities in the field of Yoga; namely, teaching, therapy and research.
By the continuous donations of the Temples, the amount reached over Rs. 90 Lakhs and deposited in the bank on account of Dharmanidhi Yoga Peetha. The detail of the donations is given below.

Activities of Yoga Therapy Centre under Dharmanidhi Yogapeetha:
a) Giving Yoga Therapy to the following:
Obesity, Back ache, Hypertension, Diabetes, Hyper acidity, Osteoarthritis, Asthma, Sinusitis, Mellitus, Knee joint pain, Thyroid problem, Scoliosis, Bronchial Rheumatoid Arthritis, Hyperthyroidism, Breathlessness, Menopausal problem, Anxiety, Bronchitis, Multiple Joint pains, Occupational, Stress, Lack of Concentration, Migraine Head ache, Coronary Heart disease, Allergy, Insomnia, High Disorder, Peptic Alcer, Body pain, Pankriyataities, Shoulder pain, Hip joint pain, Breathless ness, Gastritis, Irregular Menstrual cycle, Depression, Lack of concentration, Migraine head ache, Chronic cold, Allergy, Stress, Insomnia, Eye disorder, Lack of Memory, Cervical spondylosis, Menstrual Problem, Dysmenorrhea, Pancreatitis, Anemia, Under weight, Skin allergy, Neurosis, Disk prolapse, Poly arthritis, Varicose vein, liver disease, neck pain, Muscular dystrophy, Muscular Spasm and General improvement.
b) (i) Total number of repeat cases (till January 31st , 2017) – 46,970.
(ii) Total No. of new cases treated by Yoga Therapy (till January, 2017) – 2185
(iii) Average patients per day: 15-20
Other Activities of the Dharmanidhi Yoga Peetha:
- Established a departmental library for the benefit of the students and staff by purchasing the books at a cost of Rs. 25,000/- each during the academic years 2013 -14, 2014-15 and 2015-16.
- Free-ship is given for two students each in First and Second year M.Sc. Yogic Science who have secured highest marks in their previous years examinations.
- ‘Pracharopanyasa’, lectures are organized from time to time in different places to create awareness and to spread the knowledge of Yoga.
