Ph.D. Biosciences As per University Regulation Minimum Three/Four Years and maximum five/six years for full-time and part-time research respectively.
Ph.D. Biotechnology As per University Regulation Minimum Three/Four Years and maximum five/six years for full-time and part-time research respectively.
Ph.D. Environmental Science As per University Regulation Minimum Three/Four Years and maximum five/six years for full-time and part-time research respectively.

 

Programmes Eligibility

MSc Biosciences

 

Candidates who have passed three years Bachelor Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Life Science subjects are eligible for the programme provided they have studied Chemistry/Biochemistry as one of the major/optional/subsidiary subject and have secured a minimum of 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST/Category–I candidates) in aggregate excluding languages and group III subjects.

MSc Biotechnology

 

Candidates who have passed three/four years Bachelor Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Life Science subjects are eligible for the programme provided they have studied Chemistry/ Biochemistry as one of the major/optional/subsidiary subject and have secured a minimum of 45% (40% in case of SC/ST/ Category–I candidates) marks in aggregate excluding languages and group III subjects. Candidates who have passed Bachelor Degree Examination in M.B.B.S./ B.N.Y.S./ B.A.M.S./ B.H.M.S. with 45% (40% in case of SC/ST/Category–I candidates) marks in aggregate excluding languages and group III subjects may also be considered as eligible

 MSc Microbiology

 

Candidates who have passed the three year B.Sc. Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto or any integrated degree with Microbiology/ Biological Science/ Agricultural Science/ Medical Science/ Food Science/ Genetics/ Pharmacology/ Pharmacognosy/ Botany/ Zoology/ Chemistry/ Biochemistry/ Chemical Engineering/ Biotechnology/ Immunology/ Food and Nutrition/ Food Technology/ Diary Microbiology/ Molecular Biology/ Cell Biology/ Biophysics/ Bioinformatics/ Biological Chemistry/ Methodology and perspective of Science/ Microbial Physiology/ Medical Microbiology/ Methods in Microbiology/ Physiology/ Human Physiology/ Microbial Taxonomy/ Food Technology/ Microbial Genetics/ Food and Agricultural Microbiology/ Environmental Microbiology/ Environmental and Sanitation Microbiology/ Environmental Physics as major/minor/subsidiary/optional/specialized subjects are eligible for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45%(40% for SC/ST/Category–I candidates) marks in any two subjects

MSc Food Science and Nutrition

 

Candidates who have passed three years B.Sc. Degree examinations of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 45%(40% in case of SC/ST/Category–I candidates) marks in aggregate excluding languages and Group III subjects are eligible for the programme provided they have studied Chemistry/Biochemistry and any two of the following optional/major/special subjects: Botany, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Forestry, Food Science, Home Science, Horticulture, Microbiology, Pharmacognosy and Zoology.

Candidates who have passed Bachelor Degree examination in Food Nutrition and Dietetics

Agriculture, Horticulture, Fishery Science and Engineering Biotechnology with 45%(40% in case of SC/ST/Category–I candidates) marks in aggregate excluding languages and Group III subjects are also eligible.

MSc Environmental Science

Candidates who have passed any three years Bachelor Degree with Science examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent there to with any Science courses are eligible for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (40% in case of SC/ST/Category–I candidates) marks in aggregate excluding languages and group III subjects.
